It's almost leaving time!

Preparing, Packing, Procrastinating! So it's Wednesday. We are leaving on Thursday at midnight which I guess to be technical is really Friday. How much packing have Kim and I done...ZERO! Well, maybe not zero exactly. I've been packing the house in Arlington Heights and moving it to Hoffman Estates this week. Kim has been packing up school supplies to give to the Genesis 1 school in Mendenhall. Kim, her husband Bill, and I are leaving on a 10 day trip to work with Habitat for Humanity in Mobile, AL. Are we flying? Nope. Are we taking a pontoon boat? No way Jose! Are we driving? Certainly! And it's not going to be a Cadillac Escalade or a Hummer. We are turning into soccer mom's, dad's and aunt's and cruising around in a very stylish, young, hip-hop hooray, mini van! Our first stop on this trip will be to the Genesis 1 school in Mendenhall to whom we are donating over $5,000 worth of supplies! Speaking of Mendenhall, here is what Mrs. Skiffer who works at the school had to say about our visit there...

" Only me and Mrs. Clayton (school Principal) are aware of the suprise. The staff will be totallllllly surprised. What a blessing!!!!! You have no idea of what an answer to prayer you are. Some of the things on the list teachers have been wishing for some time. Friday is my birthday and I cannot think of a better gift than having someone treat the school to "Christmas in August."

Kim and I will be updating this blog daily and including pictures and polls for your voting pleasure:)

Below are some pictures from my trip to Mendenhall last year so you can see where we are headed for our first stop.
